At the airport.....

Biff drove me to the airport... we had Starbucks on the way, but there was no place to sit, so we just went on to the airport. So I'm here crazy early (my normal is cut it close). Checking in, I was the only one in line and had full support of 3 agents in the 1K checkin line.

The agent said I had made a mistake on my kiosk check-in, because it said I had no bags to check....I told her it was no mistake... the little lilac bag was all that was going--and that was carry-on baggage. She said she'd never seen anyone travel that light to Australia...(The other "small world" item?? One of the 3 check-in crew was an Aussie!)

So, I'm at the gate (another Starbucks run accomplished on the way to the gate). At the last remaining electricity plug giving last juice to all my electronic items.

I finished packing this morning--this is a new high (or low depending on how you think about it..) One bag, including clothes, minimal sundries, computer, camera, headphones, iPod, Christmas cards to write on the plane...two books (to get me to San Francisco), assorted drug store items, advil, chlortrimeton, sudafed etc.. and every charging cord/device known to woman.

Hoping the changes I made last night will cease all the 'websence" stuff that was happening to people inside the corporate net...

So, I depart at 12:30 pm EST on United 217 to San Francisco for the first leg of the trip. I'll arrive around 3:30 pm Pacific, and I'll have almost 7 hours at SFO to get back on line and give an update before the big hop to Sydney on United flight 863.

Hi Paula!
Waiting for my m call...Nice of Biff to drop you off...I told a co-worker about your whirlwind world tour and his comment was "That's a lot of peanuts".

And now we get to talk behind her back for 6 hours

Interestingly, the Time hack for the blog seems to be set somewhere west of SFO in the ocean, showing 7:41 AM at 1141 AM eastern. taht should make it interesting as we try to decide what time zone or Day she is actually in.

Not sure if you can cut and Paste, and i'll try it after I send this, but here's the link to check on Flight 217 as she wings west

Thanks for the link Tyler...that's great! Now if the United site only had that little map they have on the plane, I would be REALLY happy.

My guess is that it was 10:41 which would be about right, and that the time is California time. I can also confirm that my access to the blog works, though I am not totally inside the corporate net.

Ok, What I won't do for a pretty face. This now is the link to the flight position which include the "little airplane". It does not work on international flights however, so I'll be looking for the international version for leg 2

You know reading about her light packing has me wondering whether security or DEA might take exception to her flying about like this. Wonder if they may question the short stops?
